Mar 17, 2010 - He passed away in 1996 and his show Cosmos had been in reruns for a while. Unless you happen to have been watching his show or were interested in science I'm not sure you would have heard about him. :) I grew up watching his show so I was really sad to hear about his death back when it happened.

You my friend no NOTHING of Science.I don't care if someone believes in God or not, I do however find it dishonest for someone to say that there is evidence for God, and that a belief in God is rational.Belief in God requires not rationalism, but faith. Now what is faith? Well, refer to amxrtdket's quote he just posted here.I've got many friends that believe in God and they all acknowledge that they can't back up their belief. I admire them for their honesty.

We need need more people who will look past our understanding and think outside of that box or we will get nowhere in finding the answers we seek!It sounds backwards, i know, but imagination is what is behind all the great discoveries of the past, without it we can't see whats right in front of our eyes!

Mar 17, 2010 - indeed, if anything, we know we know less than what we thought we knew before, especially at the quantum level its almost as if anything goes.Sagan was a great inspirator, orator and intellect, and the great thing was that he was an individual thinker, which all scientists should aspire to be. I dont quite belive we are advancing by leaps and bounds as the science seems to be more and more focused on pragmatism and economic growth, most discoveries were in the name of curiosity not utility....
